Reed Diffusers

Most reed diffusers last several months, depending on room size, airflow and how often the reeds are flipped. Turning the reeds more frequently increases scent strength but may reduce longevity slightly.

There are a few simple ways to increase scent strength:

• Flip the reeds regularly to refresh the fragrance and boost scent release, this keeps the reeds working instead of just sitting saturated
  
• Place the diffuser in an area with gentle movement or foot traffic. As people walk past, air circulates around the reeds and helps carry the scent through the room.
  
• Avoid strong drafts or constantly open windows, as heavy airflow can cause the liquid to evaporate too quickly and reduce how well you notice the fragrance.
  
• Smaller or moderately enclosed spaces tend to hold fragrance better than large open areas.
  

You can also control strength by adjusting the number of reeds. More reeds will create a stronger scent, while fewer reeds will produce a lighter fragrance and help the diffuser last longer. If you’re placing your diffuser in a small room such as a bathroom, you don’t need to use all the reeds at once. Start with fewer reeds and adjust until you find the scent strength that works best for your space.

Reed diffusers aren’t better or worse than candles, they’re simply a different way to enjoy home fragrance. Candles offer warmth and ambience and can create a cosy, romantic atmosphere, but they do require supervision while burning. Reed diffusers provide continuous, flame-free fragrance and are often a more convenient option for everyday scent. Many people prefer them as a “set and forget” solution, only needing to flip the reeds occasionally to refresh the fragrance. The choice really comes down to personal preference and how you like to scent your space.

Yes, you can reuse and top up your reed diffuser bottle. There’s no need to purchase a new glass bottle each time. Simply refill it once the fragrance has finished. For best performance, we recommend replacing the reeds when topping up, as used reeds can become saturated and less effective over time. Our refils come with a new set of reeds.
